Vanderbilt Hit with Six-Figure Fine For Storming Field

Vanderbilt Hit with Six-Figure Fine For Storming Field

Vanderbilt has a big bill, but the school is OK with it and has a very interesting fundraiser in mind to cover the costs.

Chances are you may have seen Vanderbilt topping No. 1 ranked Alabama 40-35. As soon as the clock hit 0:00, fans rushed the field to celebrate.

Quarterback Diego Pavia got swept up in the excitement dropping a NSFW clip moments after praising God.

The fans went wild, tearing down the goalposts and then taking the new trophy on a quick tour of downtown Nashville, including a route right down Broadway on the way to the shores of the Cumberland River. In all, the fans went nearly 3 miles in just over an hour, and thankfully the trip was caught, and recorded, by many.

Authorities apparently had no intention of slowing down the joyous caravan.

You didn’t even have to be a student to enjoy the trip!

When everyone had cleared out, first responders got to work removing the goal posts from the water.

You read that right, Vanderbilt Athletics is now facing a six figure fine for allowing fans to storm the field.

Vandy wasn’t alone in getting a fine notice for the weekend as Arkansas, fresh off their 19-14 win over fourth ranked Tennessee, got notice that they are fined $300,000 for their storming of the field.

The Razorbacks fine was larger since this was the second time the school has been charged. $300k is a lot, but Head Football Coach Sam Pittman doesn’t seem to mind.

Vanderbilt has made the decision to auction EVERYTHING from that night to make up the $100,000, including being able to bid on a 4-inch piece of the goalposts, which already is over $1,000. But that’s on the cheap end considering a personalized helmet is quickly approaching the five-figure mark.

Let Vandy enjoy themselves as they went into their match-up against top ranked Alabama 0-60 lifetime against the No. 1 team in America. It was a huge upset. A win that even had comedian Nate Bargatze talking as he closed out Saturday Night Live.

Oh, and Jelly Roll loved it too.

College Football is the best.
