The inaugural first-timer at No. 1 on a Billboard rock radio chart in 2026 is The Paradox.
The Atlanta rock band rises to the top of the Alternative Airplay tally dated Jan. 24 with “Get the Message,” marking the act’s first ruler on any Billboard ranking.
The Paradox notches its maiden No. 1 on Alternative Airplay in its initial appearance on the list, becoming the first act to do so since sombr with “Back to Friends” last June.
(Honorable mention: Blink-182 is shouted out in the opening line of “Get the Message.” The band boasts five Alternative Airplay No. 1s, between 1999 and 2024. Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker is featured on one of The Paradox’s releases, “Bender,” as well, and contributed production to the tune.)
Concurrently, “Get the Message” holds at No. 9 on the all-rock-format, audience-based Rock & Alternative Airplay chart with 3.4 million audience impressions in the week ending Jan. 15, according to Luminate. The song hit a No. 8 high in December.
The Paradox first made a Billboard ranking when “Do Me Like That” went viral on TikTok, with one clip from last April of the band performing the song in a backyard racking up nearly 10 million views. The track peaked at No. 4 on Alternative Digital Song Sales, while the band reached No. 47 on Emerging Artists.
Both “Get the Message” and “Do Me Like That” (as well as Barker collaboration “Bender”) are on the act’s six-song EP NSFW, released last September via Hundred Days Records.
