While the southeast United States braces for another hurricane, Taylor Swift is already swooping in to help.
The pop star has made a $5 million donation to aid in relief efforts from both Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. The latter is expected to make landfall on Wednesday night in Florida (Oct. 9).
Swift’s donation will go to Feeding America, who posted a statement on social media.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Taylor Swift for her generous $5 million donation to Hurricanes Helene and Milton relief efforts,” the post reads. “This contribution will help communities rebuild and recover, providing essential food, clean water, and supplies to people affected by these devastating storms.”
Adds the organization:
“Together, we can make a real impact in surrounding families as they navigate challenges ahead. Thank you, Taylor, for standing with us in the movement to end hunger and for helping communities in need.”
Fans are also encouraged to add to Swift’s generous portion with their own donations.
Country Artists Who Are Helping With Hurricane Relief Efforts
Swift joins an ever-growing list of artists who are donating their time and money to help those in need. Dolly Parton announced a $2 million donation from her both own personal funds and her businesses to help rebuild East Tennessee, where she grew up. Morgan Wallen donated $500,000 to aid in relief efforts in North Carolina.
Luke Combs and Eric Church have also announced a concert event that will raise money for those in need. Concert for Carolina is set for Oct. 26 with performances from both artists as well as Billy Strings and James Taylor.
