Unleashing Student Potential

Experience a program where students from high schools around the country can gain professional radio experience.

Overview

Thasis Radio Network is committed to supporting the next generation of broadcasters and media professionals. As part of our dedication to community engagement, we are launching a high-school student radio station within our network of 15 professionally managed stations. This initiative provides students with hands-on experience in a real-world broadcasting environment, positioning them for success in college admissions and careers in media, broadcasting, and podcasting.

We are seeking the support of school administrations and faculty to identify talented students for participation. This collaboration will benefit students individually while also enhancing the reputation of participating schools by highlighting their commitment to advancing student achievement and career readiness.

About the Program

Each semester, students will have the opportunity to audition for Thasis Student Radio, our dedicated high-school student station. Selected students will create and host radio shows with support from our professional team, gaining experience in live broadcasting, media production, and audience engagement.

We are seeking the best student broadcasters from schools with existing radio programs to provide them with professional-level experience. This opportunity will allow students to build portfolios that strengthen their college applications and future career paths.

To be considered, students must submit:

  • 3–5-minute aircheck from their high school’s radio station, showcasing their broadcasting skills and creativity.
  • 250–500-word personal essay explaining their passion for radio, podcasting, or media and how this program supports their future goals.
  • Parental and guidance counselor permission (if under 18) to ensure awareness of responsibilities and time commitments.

Auditions will open each semester, with schools informing students about the opportunity and requirements. Thasis Radio professionals will review submissions and select finalists based on talent, creativity, and passion. Chosen students will receive mentorship and training, including technical production and audience engagement. They will host voice-tracked, pre-recorded shows aligned with their interests, gaining exposure through network promotions and community involvement.

Throughout the semester, students will receive coaching and feedback, and upon completion, they will earn letters of recommendation and certificates of participation, providing valuable credentials for college and career opportunities.
