Taylor Swift just completed one of the most satisfying full-circle moments in pop history: she officially owns the master recordings of her first six albums after years of legal battles, emotional setbacks, and fierce determination.
On the New Heights podcast — hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason — Swift spoke candidly about the experience.
Her words were raw, emotional, and deeply personal, leaving fans teary-eyed and cheering her on.
The country-turned-pop icon recalled the exact moment she told Kelce the news — and it was pure, sob-filled bliss.
And then, in a moment no one quite expected, Scooter Braun — the man at the center of her years-long masters controversy — responded.

His words? Brief, but surprisingly graceful.
End of an Era?
On Monday (Aug. 18), TMZ caught up with Braun in Los Angeles, asking how he felt about Swift’s emotional retelling on the podcast.
His response? “I wish everybody the best.”
That’s it. That’s the quote — and, oddly enough, maybe all we needed.
Braun didn’t seem eager to reignite the now-legendary feud, which began back in 2019 when Swift’s former label, Big Machine, sold the rights to her early albums — including Fearless, Red, 1989, and Reputation — directly to him.

Swift called it her “worst-case scenario,” and publicly accused Braun of “incessant, manipulative bullying.”
He later sold the masters to Shamrock Capital for a reported $300 million.
The Full-Circle Moment
Never one to back down, Swift responded by rerecording four of the six albums herself — turning what could have been a career setback into a cultural movement.
But the true full-circle moment came after wrapping her record-breaking Eras Tour in late 2024.
Swift struck a reported deal with Shamrock, paying the same amount they did, to finally regain control of the original masters.

On New Heights, she recalled the life-changing moment she shared the news with Kelce.
“I dropped,” Swift said through tears. “Had no power in my legs to support myself. This changed my life. I can’t believe it still.”
Kelce was equally emotional. “I started weeping,” he admitted.

The NFL star added, “You weren’t given the rights to six albums you worked your whole life on. I know how much that burned you.”
Their vulnerability struck a chord — it wasn’t just a victory. It was healing.
Taylor’s Next Chapter: Showgirl Mode Activated
Of course, Swift wasn’t going to join her Super Bowl champ boyfriend’s podcast without leaving a little sparkle behind.
Just after midnight on August 13, she surprised fans yet again — announcing her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, out October 3, 2025.
The album will feature 12 tracks, including a collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter on the title track.
Cue the glitter. Cue the feathers. Cue the legacy era. Swift has never been more in control — or more in her element.
It’s no surprise that Taylor Swift’s voice works so well in a country setting — it is her home genre, after all! From the Chicks to Chris Stapleton to Tim McGraw, Swift’s country collaborations keep the genre close to her heart, no matter where else music takes her.
