Renowned Vocalist Steve Amerson Celebrates the Season with “Carols in the Capitol”

RENOWNED VOCALIST STEVE AMERSON CELEBRATES
THE SEASON WITH ‘CAROLS IN THE CAPITOL’

WASHINGTON, D.C.—In what has become a beloved holiday tradition uniting lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, world-renowned vocalist and Hollywood studio singer Steve Amerson recently helped ring in the season with the annual “Carols in the Capitol” event in Washington, D.C. Presented by Capitol Worship along with The Word on the Hill—an organization Amerson founded more than a decade ago to offer hope and encouragement to legislators—the Christmas celebration, held inside the United States Capitol, was hosted by Sen. Ted Budd, R-N.C., and Rep. Tom Suozzi, D-N.Y.

This year’s “Carols in the Capitol” featured multiple performances from Amerson as well as Liberty University’s LU Praise ensemble and included a reading from Chaplain Margaret Kibben of the United States House of Representatives. The event holds deep personal meaning for Amerson, who has delivered more than 40,000 handwritten notes of encouragement to members of Congress over the past decade via his work with The Word on the Hill.

“‘Carols in the Capitol’ has become one of the high points of my work on Capitol Hill,” Amerson shares. “Gathering believers to celebrate the birth of Christ and lift our voices in Christmas carols within the United States Capitol is profoundly significant. In a place where power brokers abound, we are reminded—as we worship the King of Kings—that every earthly position of authority is ultimately subject to Him. It is a sacred opportunity to gently point those who serve on Capitol Hill to the One Whose power surpasses all others.”

On the heels of “Carols in the Capitol,” Amerson—who shared his stirring rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at Charlie Kirk’s memorial service earlier this year—is slated to perform at AmericaFest 2025 this Thursday, December 18. Presented by Turning Point USA, the sold-out gathering at the Phoenix Convention Center will feature Vice President J.D. Vance, Erika Kirk, Ben Shapiro, Glenn Beck, and former professional racing driver Danica Patrick, among numerous other conservative leaders and influencers.
