We’re not even three months into 2025, and already country music has suffered some devastating losses.

The list of country artists who have died so far in 2025 includes a member of one of country music’s most beloved families, as well as a folk icon, a hugely influential rock and country legend, the head of a Grammy-winning group and more.

One very prominent hitmaker had scored a huge No. 1 hit before gradually fading from the public view in the last years of her life, and one country singer lost the father who helped lead her into music in the first place.
