NASHVILLE, TN (March 10, 2026) – Christian artist Petrina Pacheco has released her new single “God Moves” to Christian radio. The Christian AC and Praise and Worship track blends powerful scripture-based lyrics with an uplifting musical arrangement, delivering a message that reminds listeners of the transforming power of faith.
Written by Petrina Pacheco and her son Treyvin Pacheco and produced by Chris Springer, “God Moves” is more than a song. It is a deeply personal declaration of faith rooted in Petrina’s own journey from brokenness to redemption. Born and raised in the small town of Kiln, Mississippi, Petrina grew up in a church-going family where her parents modeled faith and commitment. Their example continues to shape her life today as she strives to be the same kind of role model for her own family.
Although she was raised in church, Petrina admits that when she became old enough to make her own choices, faith was no longer a priority. Venturing out into the world, she discovered quickly that life outside the safety of her hometown was not what she had imagined. After becoming trapped in a toxic and abusive relationship for several years, she eventually escaped physically at the age of 28. However, the emotional scars remained. In the years that followed, Petrina struggled with addiction as she attempted to numb the pain of the trauma she had endured.
Everything changed when she walked into a church service at the age of 33. In that moment, she says God intervened in her life, setting her free from the addictions that had held her captive. The transformation was immediate and profound. Petrina describes the experience as becoming a new creation, finally discovering the joy and peace that had been missing for so many years. Since that turning point, she and her husband James have dedicated their lives to ministry, founding outreach efforts designed to help people who are broken, addicted, or searching for hope. Sharing the Gospel and her testimony has become the mission that drives everything she does.
“God Moves” carries that same message of faith and restoration. The song itself came in an unusual and deeply meaningful way. Petrina explains that she first heard the melody and lyrics in a dream. In the dream she began clapping along to the rhythm and singing words that seemed to flow effortlessly, as though she already knew the song. When she woke up, the melody was still playing in her mind, so she immediately recorded it on her phone before the moment could fade.
She shared the recording with her son Treyvin, a 15-year-old piano prodigy with an exceptional musical gift. Treyvin created the music and full arrangement around the melody his mother had captured. He also suggested adding a spoken preaching segment to emphasize the song’s biblical foundation. Petrina wrote the spoken portion, and her husband James recorded the narration, making “God Moves” a true family collaboration and a project that holds special meaning for them all.
At the heart of the song is a simple but powerful truth drawn directly from scripture. Petrina intentionally built the lyrics around verses from the Bible so that listeners are not only hearing a song but also hearing the Word of God. Lines such as “If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can speak to mountains and cast them in the sea” and “All things are possible to them who believe” echo the promises found throughout scripture. The chorus reinforces the message with a joyful declaration: “When you have faith, God moves, God moves. When you have love, God moves. When you have grace, God moves. When you have mercy, God moves.”
The spoken section of the song further expands on the theme, reminding listeners that “faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.” It calls believers to trust God even when circumstances seem uncertain and encourages them to believe that nothing is impossible within the will of God.
For Petrina, the purpose behind the song goes beyond music. She believes that while some people may never open a Bible, they might still hear a song on the radio. By placing scripture directly into the lyrics, “God Moves” allows listeners to hear and even memorize the Word of God simply by listening and singing along.
The result is a joyful, faith-filled anthem that celebrates the power of belief and the promise that when faith is present, God is always at work. Through her testimony, her music, and the ministries she leads with her family, Petrina Pacheco continues to share a message of hope for anyone searching for freedom, healing, and a deeper relationship with Christ.
