Morgan Wallen’s Felony Trial Pushed to December

Morgan Wallen‘s scheduled day in court has been pushed back four months. In December, the singer will face four charges stemming from an alleged chair-throwing incident earlier this year.

The new date is Dec. 12 with Judge Allegra Walker. He’d previously been scheduled to appear before Judge Marcus Floyd on Thursday (Aug. 15). Billboard first shared news of the new date.

  • Morgan Wallen was arrested on April 7 after allegedly throwing a chair off the roof of Chief’s in downtown Nashville.
  • The chair landed near two police officers.
  • After interviewing witnesses, MNPD charged him with three felony counts of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.

It’s not clear if Wallen’s legal team or the prosecution asked for the continuance. The initial court appearance came in May, but Wallen waived his right to appear in person. Attorney Worrick Robinson said his client would be present for the August date, listed as a trial on the General Sessions Court calendar.

Wallen is in between tour dates, with his U.S. run of the One Night at a Time Tour ending last weekend in Las Vegas and his European trek starting on Aug. 28. His last scheduled shows for 2024 are a pair of stadium shows in Charlotte, N.C. on Oct. 18-19.

A settlement between the parties is still possible. The arrest was Wallen’s third, but the first two were dismissed.
