With eight nods, Luke Combs is the most nominated artist at the 59th annual Academy of Country Music Awards. The unveiling of this year’s nominations revealed that the musician is up for Song of the Year — presented to songwriters, publishers, and artists — for “Fast Car,” which also earns Tracy Chapman her first-ever ACM Awards nomination.
Trailing Combs with six nominations each are Megan Moroney and Morgan Wallen. Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton, and Lainey Wilson each earned five nods, including Entertainer of the Year, while Jordan Davis and first-time nominee Jelly Roll racked up four. Other nods across the artist, album, and individual song categories include Kelsea Ballerini, Zach Bryan, Ernest, Kacey Musgraves, and Old Dominion.
The 2024 ACM Awards also marks the return of the New Duo or Group of the Year award — with nods for Neon Union, Restless Road, and Tigirlily Gold — for the first time since 2018.
“The 59th ACM Awards cycle brings changes to awards categories that will allow more artists, groups, and duos the chance to qualify and be recognized with an ACM Award, which will benefit emerging artists and help put a spotlight on the future of the genre,” Daniel Miller, chair of the ACM awards, voting, and membership committee, shared in a statement late last year.
The Academy of Country Music Awards will return to Ford Center at the Star in Frisco, Texas, on Thursday, May 16, 2024. The show streams live on Prime Video.
