Lauren Alaina and her late father, J.J. Suddeth, shared a special bond when it came to music.
Just a few weeks after his death (July 23), the country singer has shared a video of her and her “daddy” singing a worship song together.
In the clip, Suddeth strums on a guitar, while Alaina — Season 10 American Idol runner-up — stands beside him. The two are leading a crowd in an acoustic version of Chris Tomlin‘s song “How Great Is Our God.” Their voices harmonize beautifully with one another.
“I know you’re singing with angels and rejoicing His name,” Alaina writes in the caption, speaking to her father directly. “I’ll miss you forever daddy. Your little turd loves you so much.”

How Did Lauren Alaina’s Father Die?
The “Getting Good” singer shared the news about her father’s passing on social media, but did not provide any details as to how J.J. Suddeth died. In the past, she told fans a little bit about his struggles with alcohol.
Alaina canceled a handful of appearances on Jason Aldean‘s Highway Desperado Tour to be home with her family after his untimely death. She has since returned to the road. She also took a moment to thank everyone around her on social media.
“Thank you. I can’t think of much else to say right now other than thank you,” she writes in a lengthy post. “Thank you to everyone who has checked on me and continued to show up for me.
Alaina specifically shared her gratitude for Aldean and his team, her family and loved ones and her own team for their support.
“Most of all thank you Jesus for the unconditional love and strength from the Kingdom of God surrounding all of us right now as we navigate this pain and sorrow,” she says in conclusion.
