Lainey Wilson Sets a Release Date for Her Miranda Lambert Collab

Lainey Wilson and Miranda Lambert are officially releasing a duet, after performing the song live on a couple of occasions over the past several months.

The collaboration, called “Good Horses,” is due out on Friday (Aug. 2), according to a statement shared by Wilson this week. It’ll be included on the tracklist of Whirlwind, the new studio album that Wilson is scheduled to release in late August.

Wilson is one of country music’s most in-demand collaborators — she’s appeared as a feature on hits by Jelly Roll, Hardy, Cole Swindell and  Lauren Alaina — but “Good Horses” marks the first time that she has included a duet on one of her own projects.

Wilson and Lambert wrote the song together, alongside Luke Dick, who’s a prominent Nashville songwriter and a frequent collaborator of Lambert’s.

To tide fans over until the song comes out, Wilson teased it one more time on social media on Monday (July 29). She shared live footage of herself and Lambert singing together.

I don’t need a compass / I don’t need a saddle / Let go of the reins / Baby, let me unravel,” the pair harmonize in the chorus. “If you wanna love me / You don’t need a rope / You just need to know / Good horses come home.”

Both Lambert and Wilson are gearing up for big album releases in the weeks ahead. Wilson’s Whirlwind is her fifth studio album, and she’s already shared a handful of tracks of the project, including lead single “Hang Tight Honey.”

Meanwhile, Lambert just announced her ninth studio album, Postcards From Texas, due for release Sept. 13. This marks her first full-length collection since she parted ways with Sony, her label home of 20 years, and inked a new deal with Republic.
