Kid Rock is on the tip of people’s tongues this week, with his performance at the Republican National Convention last week.
Kid Rock is an avid car and motorcycle collector and has quite the collection. His most recent acquisition, his General Lee Cybertruck, has taken the internet by storm.
Now, we get a rare look at another one of Kid Rock’s automobiles, as it recently sold at auction.
Kid Rock’s 2005 Ford GT sells for $600K – See Why
One look at the rare 2005 Ford GT, and even a non-car-enthusiast can see that this is something quite exotic.
When Rock’s Detroit-powered Ford hit the Mecum Auto Auction block, it had a starting bid of $600,000. That is significantly higher than it’s original sticker price, $149,995.
Most of the comps for this car in today’s world, at auction, are around $400,000-$500,000, but the fact that it was being touted as Kid Rock’s 2005 Ford GT, pushed that starting price quite a bit higher.
The other things that may have pushed the auction to a higher outcome was the fact that the winning bidder not only got the car, with less than 4,000 miles on it, they also got an autographed guitar from Rock and an autographed poster signed by the designer of the rare Ford, Camilo Pardo.
The sale ended up garnering more than the inflated $600,000 asking price, as Rock’s 2005 Ford GT sold for $638,000 at the auction.
Another fact about Rock’s former 2005 Ford GT is that it was one of only 669 produced in Mark IV Red. The fact that Rock didn’t really drive it much also drove the price way up.
The buyer has remained private, but have no doubts, they are probably sitting in it right now, maybe even listening to Kid Rock’s “Cowboy” at full blast.

Kid Rock has a rough-and-tumble image, but he didn’t exactly grow up in humble circumstances. His childhood home was a 5,660-square-foot luxury home in Michigan, situated on 5.5 acres that includes 5 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, 5-car garage, along with a partially finished walkout and guest house. There’s also a 3 stall horse barn, regulation tennis court and inground pool. The 22-room house was renovated in 2004, and it also has a hot tub and a wet bar.
