Kenny Chesney + More Join the Country Hall of Fame

Kenny Chesney, June Carter Cash and Tony Brown were officially enshrined as Country Music Hall of Fame members during a Medallion Ceremony in Nashville on Sunday (Oct. 19.)

Each received a medallion and special plaque to be displayed in the museum’s rotunda, and each were celebrated with tribute performances and surprise special guests.

Tony Brown, who was inducted in the Non-Performer category, was honored with performances by Lyle Lovett, Steve Earle, Trisha Yearwood and George Strait.

Vince Gill officially presented him with his medallion.

Veterans Era Artist inductee June Carter Cash died in 2003, but her children — John Carter Cash and Carlene Carter — were on hand to accept the recognition in her stead.

Kacey Musgraves and Daniel Tashian sang the Carter Cash-penned classic “Ring of Fire,” Keb’ Mo and Ruby Amanfu performed “Keep on the Sunny Side” and Lukas Nelson closed out the tributes with “It Ain’t Me Babe.”
