Kathie Lee Gifford says that after a recent injury, she experienced a healing process that was nothing short of miraculous.
The 70-year-old TV personality and singer-songwriter appeared on Today earlier this week to give an update on a recent hospital stay.
According to People, Gifford was hospitalized for a fractured pelvis after she fell while recovering from hip replacement surgery. She spent a week in the hospital.
A little while after she returned home, Gifford says she was walking around her farm property with a walker when she noticed something surprising.
“I was in no pain at all,” she reveals. “And I was off painkillers. I was off all that stuff.”
She called her doctor and went back in for another scan, and when the results came in, neither of them could believe their eyes.
“He comes in with my X-ray and goes, ‘Look at this, Kathie. Do you want to see your X-ray?'” she remembers. “And I go, ‘That’s my X-ray?’ He goes, ‘Yeah. You’re completely healed. You are cured.'”
According to Cedars-Sinai, it typically takes about eight to 12 weeks to recover from a pelvic fracture, and Gifford was bracing for a much longer recovery. She credits her remarkable healing journey to all the well-wishes and prayer she received from her fans, she goes on to say.
“You have to give credit and glory; credit to all the prayers,” Gifford says. “… If people are out there looking for hope, waiting for miracles, keep hoping, guys. God hears your prayers. He knows what you’re going through.”
“I’m deeply grateful and I”ll still praying for all the friends and the loved ones in my life that have not received their healing yet,” she continues.
Even her doctor agreed that there was no explanation for her fast recovery other than a miracle.
“And he’s an incredible man of God, yes, but he doesn’t see that very often!” Gifford adds. “He said, ‘You are healed. It’s a miracle. Now you can have one glass of wine if you’d like.'”
