Jelly Roll‘s wife Bunnie Xo has a soft spot for animals of all description — especially the ones that aren’t considered conventionally cute.

One of the animals that she’s been hoping to add to the family is a opossum, and that dream almost came true this week when one walked into a humane trap on the family’s property.

Bunnie shows how it all went down in a social media, prefacing the clip by saying that adopting an opossum is something she’s “been manifesting since last year” in hopes of living her “best Disney princess life.”

Jelly and Bunnie originally set out the trap to try to catch a skunk who’d been hanging out on the grounds, but they got the opossum instead.

“I don’t know if I should keep it, just, like, try to have it as a pet,” Bunnie says as she sprinkles blueberries into the cage. “Or if we should let it go back into the wild.”

“Do you got a mommy somewhere?” she coos to the animal, who looks calm, but hesitant as he peers out from the trap.

Eventually, they decided to let the opossum go — but not without Bunnie hoping that they’ll reunite some day.

“My little heart hurts for him, and I just want him to live his best life,” she says. “Hopefully he’ll come back with his possum family and just love me. In my Disney princess mind, I’m like, ‘Okay, he’s just gonna bring all the possums back to me.”

“I understand. I walk through life looking like you, showing my teeth, but deep down inside you’ve got a really sweet heart, I know it,” Bunnie says as the opossum opens his mouth wide — a defense mechanism the animals use to scare predators away with their teeth.

Eventually, with a little prompting, the animal scurries away into some nearby brush. “Well, there goes my dreams,” Bunnie jokes.

Bunnie Xo often speaks about her desire to have unconventional pets. She has also said that she’d like to befriend a murder of crows.
