Jay Cutler was arrested on Thursday (Oct. 18) for driving under the influence and gun possession.
Per TMZ, the former NFL quarterback was booked at the Williamson County Jail in Franklin, Tenn., which is outside of Nashville.
In addition to the first two crimes, Cutler committed two other offenses: Failure to exercise due care and violation of implied consent law. The 41-year-old posted the $5,000 bond and was released later that night.
Who Is Jay Cutler?
Cutler was a standout quarterback at Vanderbilt University who was selected as the Southeaster Conference Offensive Player of the Year his senior year. He went on to be drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos in 2006.
He was then traded to the Chicago Bears in 2009, and the following year, he led the Bears to the NFC Championship Game. He remained in Chicago until 2016 when the team traded him to the Dolphins. He retired in 2017 after one year in Miami.

Reality television fans will also recognize Cutler from his time married to The Hills star Kristin Cavallari. The pair began dating in 2010 and were engaged in 2011. The pair called off the engagement for a brief few months before reconciling.
Cutler and Cavallari were married on June 7, 2013 — however, they divorced in 2020. They share three children, two sons and a daughter. Camden was born in 2012, followed by Jaxon in 2014. Saylor arrived in 2015.
The former NFL player has remained fairly quiet in his personal life. Cavallari has since had a very public relationship with one of the Montana Boyz, Mark Estes. The two recently broke up.
