Jana Kramer is learning to be more mindful about the content she posts of her kids — and calling out predators who sexualize child-focused content on the internet.

The singer recently uploaded a video to Instagram that shows her 8-year-old daughter Jolie dancing around at home with her siblings.

But after seeing some distressing comments aimed at Jolie’s outfit, which included a sports bra, Kramer decided to delete the video. She explains why in a lengthy message on Instagram Stories.

“If I’m being honest … I didn’t even see the issue at first with the original,” Kramer says. “I forgot how sick this world is and how sexualized kids are.”

She goes on to explain Jolie got dressed in a sports bra to hang out with her mom while she was working out. After that, her younger brothers — 5-year-old Jace and 10-month-old Roman — joined in as they all had a little impromptu dance party.

“Again, not even seeing an issue, I post it,” Kramer continues.

She started seeing comments on the post about Jolie’s outfit, and at first, the singer says she was surprised. “If I’m honest I thought, ‘She’s wearing more than a bathing suit,'” she admits.

But the more she thought about it — and the more conversation she had with friends and followers — the more she realized that, ultimately, the video could be damaging.

“I would never let her go to the store in just a sports bra, and though this video was filmed in our home, I still shared it to 2 mil people,” Kramer reflects, opening up a conversation about how to balance sharing family life online with maintaining privacy and protection for her children.

“I love to share my family over Insta … and understand some of the risks but I do believe there is a balance in it all no matter how messed up this world can be at times,” she reasons. “But I also see how I can do better at times to protect.

“Again, I had no clue just how far these sickos go,” she adds. “Sad honestly that’s where this world is at.”

In a separate slide, Kramer said that Jolie was sad that the video of her dancing was taken down, so the family filmed a redo. Jolie wore a different outfit, but the kids were as cute as ever as they danced around the room, baby Roman wiggling along from his spot on the floor.

Kramer shared Jolie and Jace with her ex-husband Mike Caussin. Roman was born to the singer and her husband Allan Russell, whom she married in July.
