Canadian worship collective Informants have announced their upcoming project, Hymns Reimagined, offering fresh interpretations of timeless hymns including “All Creatures,” “Doxology,” and “How Great Thou Art.”
Blending real-time sampling, visual triggers, and ambient soundscapes, Hymns Reimagined aims to bridge the ancient and the personal, bringing new life to songs that have carried generations through worship in living rooms, cathedrals, and quiet moments of prayer.
Each song on the project carries a deeply personal connection for the band. “Doxology” was recorded in response to the birth of the songwriter’s daughter, Indie, after years of infertility, with samples of her first singing woven into the track. “All Creatures” features the voices of children in Peru, whose joy in the face of hardship became part of the arrangement. “How Great Thou Art” incorporates a synth patch created from a house worship gathering, capturing the voices of twenty people in a living room to form the foundation of the song.
“These hymns have been passed like prayers through time,” the band shared. “We hope these reimagined versions give listeners a new voice and expression to worship God while honoring the sacredness of these songs.”
In addition to the recordings, Informants plan to release complete stems packages, chord charts, and Ableton project files for all three songs to equip worship leaders in bringing these reimagined hymns into church settings.
Hymns Reimagined is now available for pre-save.
