Elvis Presley was pronounced dead at Baptist Hospital on Union Avenue in Memphis at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 16, 1977. He had been transported to the hospital by Memphis Fire Department ambulance after he was found on the floor of his upstairs bathroom at Graceland. He was 42.
