I have lived in the Chicagoland area my entire life and have a profound love of music. As a child, I spent my Saturdays watching American Bandstand and Soul Train. A turntable, cassette player, CD player and radio were ALWAYS close by.
These days, I consciously try to see live, original music at least once a month. I feel fortunate that I live in an area with a plethora of diverse musical acts that perform on a weekly basis.
I host a feature on Coast to Coast Country called Roots and Rhythm that showcases Black, Latin, Indigenous, Asian, and Pacific Islander artists in country and country-adjacent genres such as Bluegrass, Folk, and Americana. My purpose is to bring to the forefront marginalized groups in Country and Roots Music.
Most of my travel these days has to do with attending music festivals and conferences. In my spare time I enjoy trying new cuisine, farmers markets, pro wrestling, and most importantly, spending time with family. I also co-host a food podcast, Fresh and Uncooked.
