Valerie Knight is a Philadelphia Radio veteran and influencer, and has been on the air and in the media in the Philadelphia market for 30-plus years. Born and raised in King of Prussia, Valerie has always been proud to work in her hometown area. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Temple University, and after college and a stint DJing in nightclubs, and becoming a Legend Of Vinyl ™, she segued into radio, starting at WAEB in Allentown, then to Sunny 104.5 in Philadelphia, and worked in Philly for her entire career. From disc jockey and producer, to news and traffic reporter, to news anchor, to interviewer and public affairs reporter, to co-hosting and then hosting her own morning show, Val has done it all behind the microphone, mostly mornings. Other jobs in her career included stints at Eagle 106, middays and then mornings at WIOQ, Q102, and news and talk show host at WWDB. Valerie spent 15 years at 98.1 WOGL as co-host of the popular morning show The Breakfast Club, showcasing her daily Show Biz Buzz report. From 2019 to 2022 Val hosted her own morning show for I Heart Radio at 106.1 The Breeze, producing a show that included music, chat, news, interviews and more.
Married to husband Frank and living in Philadelphia, Valerie is a proud Eagles fan and season ticket holder for many years. This gym rat loves to work out, and also enjoys travelling, gardening, and a yearly trek to the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, nurturing her love for movies and independent film.
Valerie’s community work is extensive, helping to raise money for various organizations, including Alex’s Lemonade Stand and Kisses For Kyle, to fight pediatric cancer; as MC for 12 years for the Susan G Komen Race For the Cure to fight breast cancer; for K9’s For Warriors, for Morris Animal Refuge; and most notably Val helped to raise millions of dollars for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia through many events, including the yearly ‘WOGL Loves Our Kids Radiothon.’
