Danica Patrick just served a warning to her 1.7 million followers on X (Twitter).
The former IndyCar and NASCAR race car driver and model will not only not sit out this election cycle as she’s done previously, she’s going to let everyone know how she feels about things.
Oh, and she’s going to start talking about her dogs a lot more, too.
- Danica Patrick is the most successful female in open-wheel racing ever.
- She stopped racing full-time in 2017 and retired one year later.
- Last week, she admitted that she’d never voted before.
Taking to X, Patrick says she’s going to start posting more frequently. She praised owner Elon Musk (the two exchanged compliments after) and admitted that as an athlete, she felt obliged to stay quiet on important issues of the day.
“I did my job and promoted what was asked and I was fine with that for that phase of my life,” she writes. “However now, I am ready to promote my beliefs, questions, curiosities, hobbies, and most definitely my dogs.”
Immediately, she kept her word:
Pretty quickly after that, she shared her thoughts on politics. After endorsing Robert F. Kennedy, Patrick now says she’s voting for Donald Trump in 2024. A post about border security was viewed by more than 250,000 people.
A second on the same topic that refers to California Governor Gavin Newsome as “Gavin NewScum” covers a wider set of topics and forwards a video shared by the @America account (a Political Action Committee set up by Elon Musk). It has reached 100,000 people in six hours.
Patrick now hosts the Pretty Intense Podcast.
