Arenas across the country have heard the message all winter long, and soon listeners everywhere can join in. Artist and pastor Cliff Preston releases his vibrant new single “Testify,” available March 27th from People & Songs.
Blending the storytelling spirit of Country Music with the uplifting energy of Contemporary Christian Music, “Testify” shares Preston’s real-life testimony of reckless youth before encountering Jesus and experiencing life- changing redemption. Driven by an infectious rhythm and a powerful sing-along chorus, the song celebrates the transformation of faith while inviting listeners to experience the joy of “trading dark for the Mornin’ Light.”
The release comes as the 2026 Winter Jam Tour concludes, where “Testify” has already become the standout moment in Preston’s opening set each night. After hearing it live, fans have repeatedly asked when they would be able to stream it for themselves. As the tour draws to a close, the long-awaited single will be available worldwide.
“Testify” is more than just a song: it is the story of Preston’s life. “I try to see people through the lens of what God has brought me through and saved me from,” he says. “I believe that if God can love and use even me, He can love and use anyone.” That perspective has shaped more than two decades of ministry.
Originally from Smackover, Arkansas, Preston began traveling in 2002 with bands and ministry teams, sharing music and speaking about the love of Christ while raising awareness of the growing mental health crisis facing younger generations. Influenced by his father’s work as both a professional counselor and pastor, Preston developed a deep concern for the emotional and spiritual wellbeing of those he encountered on the road. At home, Preston shares life with his wife Leslie and their four children who remain a constant reminder of God’s faithfulness.
For over twenty years, Preston has traveled the country writing songs, leading worship, preaching, and building businesses. Along the way, he has also contributed songs recorded by artists including NewSong, JJ Weeks Band, and Carrollton. His ministry has also placed him on stages alongside leading voices in Christian music such as Chris Tomlin, Matthew West, MercyMe, Jeremy Camp, and Natalie Grant.
Today, Preston continues that mission through his partnership with People & Songs, a collective of artists, worship leaders, and songwriters committed to sharing the message of the Gospel through music. Drawing from his own story of redemption, his songs aim to encourage honesty, hope, and transformation.
