>Reigning Texas Female Vocalist of the Year, Bri Bagwell is partnering with The Bluegrass Situation for her wildly fun podcast Only Vans.
The show will be the first within the BGS Good Country brand, which highlights all good country from across the roots music landscape. Bringing some Red Dirt heat, over 10 years of touring, and her Chihuahua sidekick Whiskey, Bri hosts some of the best artists in country music and beyond, in off-the-wall, hysterical conversations about life on the road. Recent highlights include episodes with Jaret Reddick (Bowling For Soup), Willy Braun (Reckless Kelly), Courtney Patton, Micky Braun (Micky & The Motorcars), with upcoming guests Cody & Shannon Canada (Lead singer of Cross Canadian Ragweed/Cody Canada & The Departed and his wife/manager), Mitch Ballard (Executive Director of BMI Texas) and Dale Martin (Texas Music Columnist and Historian).
“Over the last year and a half, I’ve been having the most fun hosting Only Vans and chatting with all of my music friends! My former tour manager (and now podcast producer) Kyle Tomchesson and I are over the moon to be picked up by The Bluegrass Situation podcast network,” Bagwell shares. “It’s an amazing opportunity to get the pod out to more eyes and ears through their impressive network, and really a dream come true to see a passion project grow, expand, and become a big part of my brand. We are so pumped to join such an esteemed family of podcasts in the BGS network!”
Co-founded by Executive Director Amy Reitnouer Jacobs and actor/musician Ed Helms (The Office, The Hangover franchise) in 2012, The Bluegrass Situation is the world’s premiere community for roots music, culture, and lifestyle. The Good Country brand was announced in January 2024; in addition to its home on BGS it also serves as a curated bespoke email newsletter released every two weeks.
“My team and I are so excited to welcome Bri Bagwell to the BGS Podcast family! What she has built over her musical career and with the Only Vans podcast represents a perfect fit for our ever-expanding network, especially with the recent addition of our Good Country brand,” Reitnouer states. “I was such an instant fan of her ebullient personality and humor, and I think the BGS and Good Country communities will quickly feel the same!”
The first episode of the partnership kicked off Monday, May 20th with lead singer of Cross Canadian Ragweed, Cody Canada and his wife Red Dirt legend/manager Shannon Canada, as the guests. To listen, tune in directly on the BGS website, as well as anywhere podcasts are made available.

ABOUT THE BLUEGRASS SITUATION
The Bluegrass Situation (or BGS, as it’s come to be known) is the world’s largest community for American roots music, culture, and lifestyle. Co-founded by lifelong music fan Ed Helms (The Office; The Hangover) and executive director Amy Reitnouer Jacobs in 2012, what began as a blog for like-minded Angelenos pining for bluegrass in Southern California has morphed and developed over more than a decade to become an international standard-bearer for all of the things beloved within every branch and offshoot of the roots music family tree. From vibey folk-pop to ravishing alt-country; plus blues, singer-songwriter, Americana, old-time, and everything else above, below, and in-between. BGS proudly represents a unique gathering place: Supporting and uplifting the rich, diverse, and varied history of these musics (as well as the artists and fans who keep them alive), while looking ahead with a progressive vision to transform these folkways and traditions into a carefully curated, 21st century lifestyle open to all. It’s really quite simple: Roots Culture Redefined.
