JISOO is a lovesick girl both as a member of BLACKPINK, and as her character in Netflix’s upcoming series Boyfriend on Demand, the trailer for which dropped late Wednesday (Feb. 18).
In the nearly two-minute preview, the K-pop star plays Seo Mi-rae, a young woman who looks for love in a dating simulation service. As her impossibly perfect dates with various attractive partners in the virtual world — including meetups in a lavish palace, a college campus and private beach — complicate the connections she has in her real life, JISOO’s character asks, “Is there a perfect match for me somewhere in this world?”
“Seo Mi-rae is worn out by work. Love? It’s the last thing on her mind,” a description for the project reads. “But a virtual dating service sparks feelings — and maybe a real shot at romance.”
Boyfriend on Demand will premiere on Netflix on March 6. Also starring Seo In-guk, the series is one of the projects JISOO worked on during BLACKPINK’s recent break from band activities. The singer-actress also released solo EP Amortage — which peaked at No. 11 on Billboard‘s Top Album Sales chart — and a collaboration with Zayn Malik titled “Eyes Closed” in 2025.
Now, JISOO and bandmates ROSÉ, LISA and JENNIE are back together, embarking on a global tour last summer. DEADLINE — the quartet’s first collection of songs since 2022’s Billboard 200-topper Born Pink — will arrive on Feb. 27, with BLACKPINK unveiling the full tracklist a couple of weeks before the Boyfriend on Demand trailer dropped.
