Ross King has lost his beloved wife and best friend, Staci. If you know Ross, you know how deeply he loved her—their relationship was a beautiful picture of devotion and strength. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Staci passed away early this morning, surrounded by her loved ones.
Please lift Ross and their four children in prayer, along with everyone who knew and loved Staci.
Ross is known for his deeply honest songwriting, including his powerful song “Things That I’m Afraid Of,” later covered by Josh Wilson, and his many co-writes with artists like Cade Thompson, Manafest, and Joel Vaughn.
But perhaps no song captures his heart more than “Her,” a tribute to Staci that reflects their love with raw honesty:
‘Cause I’m not brave
Or full of faith
But I swear she gives me courage
And I’m not confident
But somehow when she smiles I got no worries
Call it true love
I’m tangled up
In everything about her
And I’m not nearly scared of dying
As I’d be living without her
May we remember her life, their love, and the faith that carried them through it all.
