A Missouri woman who has a reported history of small-time scams and fraud has been arrested and charged with allegedly trying to steal the Presley family’s ownership interest in Graceland and extort the family for millions of dollars.
NBC News reports that 53-year-old Lisa Jeanine Findley has been charged with mail fraud and aggravated identity theft in relation to the alleged scheme.
Elvis Presley‘s granddaughter, actor Riley Keough, gained ownership of the famous mansion in Memphis after her mother, Lisa Marie Presley, died in 2023.
A party claiming to be a creditor then came forward and got a judge to approve the court-ordered foreclosure sale of the estate, alleging that Lisa Marie Presley had taken a $3.8 million loan in 2018 and used Graceland as collateral, but never paid the money back.
Keough went to court, alleging that the signatures on the documents were forged and that the creditor company behind them was entirely fraudulent.

A judge sided with Keough and stopped the sale of Graceland, and in June, NBC News reported Findley’s alleged connections to the scheme, which included “false identities, post office boxes, and phone and fax numbers that appeared to link her to the scammers.” Findley denied any involvement in the alleged plot at the time, but the fake accounts tied to the Graceland sale were deleted soon after she spoke to NBC.
An unidentified source tells NBC that “at least 15 cops” were on hand at Findley’s house to arrest her on Friday morning (Aug. 16).
A former acquaintance of Findley’s named Rasheed Jeremy Carballo testified to a grand jury about the alleged scam. He also told NBC News in June that Findley had told him about a deal involving the Presley home that stood to make millions.
Findley is slated to make her first court appearance in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri on Friday, according to prosecutors.
