Alexandra Kay is stepping in to defend her friend Maggie Baugh, squashing rumors of a supposed romance between Baugh and Keith Urban. In fact, Kay says she’s met Baugh’s actual boyfriend, and that “they’re very happy” together.
The country music newcomer recently spoke to Evan Paul on Taste of Country Nights, where she was asked about her ability to relate to going through a big breakup in the public eye following her own 2023 divorce.
“Honestly, I was heartbroken for them because the media scrutiny is insane and the things that people say… They’re like, stirring up rumors about Maggie Baugh, and I’m like, ‘She’s a good friend of mine and I know that’s absolutely not true,'” Kay tells Taste of Country Nights.
“I’ve met her boyfriend, and she’s very happy, and she has nothing to do with that whole [Nicole and Keith] relationship,” the musician continues her defense of Baugh.

The rumors of a romance between Baugh and Urban first started when actress Nicole Kidman filed for divorce from Urban on September 29.
Not long after, folks online dug up a video Baugh, Urban’s former tour guitarist, had posted just a few days prior which showed Urban using her name in a song during a performance together.
Naturally, some people speculated Baugh had played a role in Urban and Kidman’s marital woes, but that wasn’t the case.
While we previously debunked that rumor, the addition of Kay’s comments should squash any remaining doubts you might have regarding whether or not this supposed love triangle was actually a thing.
“I feel sad for everybody involved that people are doing that and picking apart their personal life. I pray for peace for them and for everybody to have their privacy,” Kay adds.
Alexandra Kay’s new album, Second Wind, is out this Friday (October 24).
Why Did Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban Divorce?
The former couple cited irreconcilable differences in their official court filing.
Is Maggie Baugh Still Keith Urban’s Guitarist?
No. Though she was previously listed as a utility guitarist on Urban’s High and Alive tour, Baugh is currently focusing on her solo career and touring on her own.

During Keith Urban’s two-decade-long love story with Nicole Kidman, the singer recorded several songs inspired by their relationship. Some he wrote just for her, while others were outside cuts that made him think of his own love story.
The only upside to this couple’s devastating divorce news? Maybe we’ll get some amazing new heartbreak music from the country superstar.
