MONTREAL, MARCH 2026 – As he quietly finalizes his upcoming studio album, Alex Henry Foster is set to embark on a singular and symbolic return to the stage aboard Cruise to the Edge, taking place March 4–9.

Marking his very first concert of the year, this performance at sea represents more than a simple tour stop. It stands as a threshold moment between the expansive High Blooming Ritual cycle and the emergence of a new creative chapter currently unfolding in the studio. If Foster’s music made waves in Europe, with appearances on Hungary’s national station M2 Petofi TV and Poland’s national Trójka Radio, his presence at Cruise to the Edge clearly shows that he’s ready to break into another key market with his forthcoming release.

Over the past year, Foster has reached remarkable milestones, including sold-out shows across Europe, multiple ADISQ nominations, and the release of A Nightfall Ritual, which debuted on the Billboard charts and was later named Post-Rock Album of the Year at GAMIQ. His latest singles, City on Fire and In the Valley of the Sun (Writing Session), further hinted at an evolving sonic direction, one balancing cathartic intensity with introspective depth.

Foster shared his gratitude for being invited to the 10th edition of the event and said he is looking forward to his performances:

“It will truly be a unique kind of experience for us all to share together, one that I’m really looking forward to living myself!!! It will be quite an amazing few days!!!”

While details surrounding the forthcoming record remain under wraps, those close to the project describe it as one of his most intentional and sonically daring works to datem, shaped by months of reflection, experimentation, and an unwavering desire to push beyond familiar horizons.

The appearance at Cruise to the Edge will offer audiences a rare opportunity to witness Foster and his band in a uniquely intimate yet powerful setting, bridging past repertoire with the promise of new material.

More details about the upcoming album will be revealed shortly after the cruise, as well as on Substack, where he has already discussed the origins of his inspirations.

ALEX HENRY FOSTER BIO

Alex Henry Foster (AHF) is a Canadian musician, author, producer, and composer, formerly the frontman for Juno Awards nominee post-rock/noise band Your Favorite Enemies (YFE).

Hailed as an “unforeseen DIY artist” by Rolling Stone Magazine, Alex Henry Foster released his first solo album, “Windows in the Sky”, in Canada in 2018 and globally in 2020. Mostly written during an exile from himself in Tangier following his father’s passing, “Windows in the Sky” is a “dreamy blast of post-rock” (NME) that “brings to my mind artists like Hammock and Asche & Spencer, with heaping helpings of Mogwai and Explosions in the Sky” (BrooklynVegan).

Fierce human rights advocate, Foster has been a very active public speaker over the last decade, commenting on racism, the proliferation of street gangs – in the midst of which he spent his teenage years — the resurgence of populism and extremism. He teamed up with Amnesty International and War Child for several campaigns initiating sensibilization awareness towards children soldiers and also created The Hope Project following the Tohoku Tsunami of 2011.

Foster spent 2024 touring Europe and America around the release of two albums and an EP. He just came back from Tangier, Morocco, where he spent 4 months working on an upcoming release.
