Andrew Peterson Releases New Project

Contemporary/folk artist Andrew Peterson has released a special new project: A Liturgy, A Legacy, and the Songs of Rich Mullins (Live). The album was crowdfunded via Kickstarter. Peterson and some guest vocalists recorded the live project on September 24, 2017. The production includes a note-for-note recreation of Mullins’s 1993 album, A Liturgy, A Legacy, and a Ragamuffin Band. They also performed select hits from Mullins’ storied career, totaling a massive 31-song setlist of Rich Mullins classics.

After eight years, Peterson has decided it’s finally time to release the album to the public. Notable guest appearances include Andrew Osenga and Leigh Nash of Sixpence None the Richer.

The album had a special release on Tuesday, October 21, on what would have been Mullins’s 70th birthday. Rich Mullins was one of contemporary Christian music’s most celebrated artists in the 1980s and 1990s. He was tragically killed in a car accident in 1997. Yet his music has continued to inspire generations with his profound lyricism and willingness to challenge Christians in their complacency.

Peterson has long followed Mullins’s example with profound songs that challenge the stylings of the worship genre, including notable hits like “His Heart Beats” and “Is He Worthy?”

You can stream the new album wherever you stream music.
