Hey CJ Nation. It’s the Z-Force, your new host on Country Jamz! It’s good to be back behind the mic with real radio folks here at Thasis.
Born in the Windy City but raised and lived in the Chicago ‘Burbs all my life. My interest in radio started brewing in the 80s listening to guys like “Smokin” Joe Dawson, Joe Bohannon and Jonathan Brandmeier. Then Dad bought a microphone and tape recorder from Radio Shack (still have my 5-channel mixer) and I was hooked. Cut my teeth with the late great overnight jock Larry Martin at the Killer B, B96 in Chicago.
My first professional gig was nights at 105.5FM WDND in Wilmington. A station complete with wolf spiders and carpet on the walls. The career journey included stops in DeKalb, Junction City/Topeka, Pittsburgh, and Kokomo, Indiana. After two successful weekend talkshows, Sunday Night Slam and Sportsline, I stepped away to take care of the man who encouraged and supported me until the day he passed. 2024 I kicked off my podcast Behind The Mic and my Z-Force Media YouTube channel.
