It seems Netflix’s The Hunting Wives has inspired something… real.
A casting company is officially on the hunt (pun absolutely intended) for the “Real Hunting Wives of the South.”
One can only assume the reality series will be packed with big personalities, bold stories and — let’s keep it real — just enough drama to keep a taxidermy shop in business.
The Call Is Out
Ain’t That Something Entertainment and Spoke Studios posted the casting call to social media on Tuesday (Aug. 12).

According to EW, the production company announced they’re teaming with a “major streaming service” to find a “close-knit circle of southern friends navigating faith, friendship, and life’s untold chapters.”
Translation: If you and your besties love porch hangs, Sunday service and a healthy dose of drama, this might be your moment.
Reality TV hopefuls are instructed to send in their friend group’s story. Only the bold need apply — bonus points if your social calendar includes PTA meetings and skeet shooting.
Inspired by a Streaming Hit
Netflix’s The Hunting Wives has held the streamer’s No. 1 spot in the U.S. since its debut last month, reeling in viewers with its soapy, scandal-laced storyline.
Based on May Cobb’s best-selling novel, the series stars Brittany Snow as Sophie, a Boston transplant who moves to Texas and gets swept into the glamorous, gun-loving circle led by Margo (Malin Akerman).
Season 2? Don’t Rule It Out
After a Season 1 cliffhanger (no spoilers here), fans are already calling for more.
While Cobb’s novel is a standalone, the series’ finale ventures well beyond the book — and the cast is eager for another round.

“I am super excited and nervous,” Akerman told Decider. “I just want and wish for everyone to love it so much that we get another season.”
Snow added that Cobb gave her blessing for the show’s creative detours: “We really got her blessing to take these characters that she wrote in the book and then make them sort of an amalgamation of all these different things we found along the way shooting.”

Whether the next chapter comes from Netflix or this reality TV twist, one thing’s certain — hunting season in the South has never looked this glamorous.
Ransom Canyon is heating up on Netflix after just one season. Based on a book by the same name, the show follows several ranchers in the Texas Hill Country. The show promises drama, as well as romance, as these ranchers and their family’s lives intersect.
