An inside look into salaries of Starbucks executives found that their CEO makes 6,666 times more than the employees of the restaurants do.

How Much Money Does the CEO of Starbucks Earn?

Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol has been with the company since late 2024. He received a total of $97.8 million dollars in the four months that he was there in 2024, according to the AFL-CIO Executive Paywatch report.

Taking into account reports that the average Starbucks employee’s annual pay is around $15,000, that makes Niccol’s pay 6,666 more than the employees he is leading.

According to the report, “The median Starbucks worker would have had to start working for Starbucks in 4643 BC just to earn what Starbucks’ CEO earned in 2024 alone.”

If you are the average Starbucks employee who is struggling to make ends meet, seeing numbers like this has to make you a little less enthusiastic about clocking in to pour someone a Venti.

Not only does Niccol get a base salary, bonuses, private personal security, stock awards, and free coffee for life, he gets full use of the private company jet to take him to work, from California to Seattle, multiple times a week.

Oh, we forgot to mention, he can also use that private jet for his leisure as well, flying to wherever he and his family desire, whenever, for free.

There’s no doubt that being the CEO of Starbucks is a demanding job, but for the employees to see how much more he makes than they do, that is surely morale-sucking.
