Rory Feek’s Daughter Heidi Got ‘Psycho’ Hate Mail From a Fan

Rory Feek‘s oldest daughter Heidi is dealing with invasive hate mail in the wake of the family’s ongoing conflict.

Heidi — a singer-songwriter who took legal action against her father regarding the safety of her 10-year-old sister, Indiana — recently received a postcard from one of her father’s fans, who had harsh words for her about the family’s issues.

Heidi shared a photo of the postcard on Instagram Stories, as well as a response to the sender.

“If u don’t like me, just unfollow me. Don’t mail this to my home like a psycho,” she tells the person who sent her the postcard.

The sender, who identifies themselves as a “former follower” of Heidi’s band Firekid, wrote that she should be trying to mend bridges with Feek instead of taking their family conflict to the courts and the media.

“You don’t get to tell your father how to live his life or how to raise Indiana. Shame on you!!” the message reads.

“Call him. Have an adult conversation. ‘Apologize’ [sic] for the chaos you created,” it continues. “You should be ashamed and embarrassed.”

The conflict between Feek and his two older daughters, Heidi and Hopie, has ramped up over the past two years, as Heidi and Hope asked their father to go to family therapy with him, and he refused. The two daughters have also said that, as tensions mount, their father has cut off all contact between them and Indiana.

Recently, Feek offered his perspective on the divide between himself and his older children, saying they’re at an “impasse.” He says he drove down to Florence, Ala., where Heidi lives, and knocked on her door with peace lily flowers and “hopes that we might be able to sit down and talk.”

No one answered, he says, so he left the flowers and drove home.

Speaking to People, Heidi responded that the unannounced visit “came off as intimidating,” and that Hopie even had a panic attack when she saw the truck in the driveway.

“We’ve set really clear boundaries,” she said at the time. “We have such a hard time communicating with him and feeling heard that we really don’t feel like it’s possible without a third party.”
