Miranda Lambert Creates a Massive Fundraiser for Storm Relief

Miranda Lambert and her MuttNation Foundation are taking action to provide relief for the people and animals impacted by Hurricane Helene.

On Wednesday (Oct. 2), the singer announced that she has created a fundraiser for fans to donate to disaster relief, via the MuttNation Relief for Rescues Fund. 100 percent of donations will be sent to the cause.

Lambert has already donated nearly $100,000 to aid in the efforts, with an emphasis on aiding animals shelters hit by the storm, as well as emergency response efforts.

In a video she uploaded to social media, the “Wranglers” star explains why it was so important to her to offer assistance to shelters in the effected areas, which include states like Tennessee, Florida, North Carolina and Georgia.

“It’s a very dire situation because many of the shelters that got hit were already struggling with overcrowding,” she says. “As we’ve been in contact with the shelters, we’re also hearing really heroic stories. People are risking their lives to help. It’s that type of courage that gives me hope that we’ll all get through this.”

Lambert is one of multiple country stars who have committed to helping Hurricane Helene relief efforts. Luke Combs has said he’s working on plans to help, especially in his home state of North Carolina. Morgan Wallen, a Tennessee native, made a $500,000 donation to the American Red Cross after pledging to help the flood-ravaged areas of east Tennessee and western North Carolina.

  • The hardest-hit states include North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Florida, Tennessee and Georgia.
  • Amid widespread flooding and power outages, many more people remain unaccounted for. Rampant road closures have made relief efforts and supply deliveries difficult.
  • According to PowerOutages.us, just under 1 million homes remain without power in affected states on Thursday, a week after the Hurricane first made landfall in Florida. The bulk of those currently experiencing power outages from the storm are in the Carolinas.
