Jelly Roll was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live on Saturday (Sept. 28) as the show celebrated the start of its 50th season.

In addition to his singing duties, the country artist was included in a skit called “Blonde Dragon People.”

If you’re wondering why you didn’t see it, it’s because the show had to cut it from the broadcast due to time constraints. Thankfully, it was posted to SNL’s YouTube channel.

Jelly Roll’s First Saturday Night Live Sketch

The scene opens with a group of friends settling in to watch their favorite show “Blonde Dragon People.” It’s been years since the show’s last season, so they rely heavily on the pre-show recap.

As scenes from the previous seasons start to pop up, they find themselves getting more and more confused. Aside from the over-the-top medieval language, there seems to be new characters popping up on the screen.

“And who are these two?” one demands as Jelly Roll and former cast member Andy Samberg arrive in the scene looking like Legolas and Samwise Gamgee from Lord of the Rings.

“A red sun rises,” Samberg begins. “Blood has been spilled this night. It is I, Legolas.”

“And it is I, Samwise Gamgee,” Jelly Rolls chimes in.

“And we have come to save Aragorn from the clutches of Saruman before he’s dragged into the fires of Mordor,” Samberg announces.

“Mordor!” Jelly Roll shouts.

The other characters hilariously call out the two newcomers for being in the wrong show.

“This is the House of Game of the Dragon or whatever,” host Jean Smart explains. “Your show is on Amazon Prime.”

Jelly Roll Debuts New Song “Winning Streak” on Saturday Night Live

In his debut on SNL, Jelly Roll brought his fan favorite hit “Liar” to the stage, but he also opted to introduce his fans to a new song: He sang “Winning Streak” for the first time.

The track deals with addiction and those who struggle to get a handle on it. It was inspired by a moment Jelly Roll witnessed while attending an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.

“This kid, he’s going through it,” the singer shared with the New York Times. “One of the old men sitting there was like, ‘Look, man, it’s all good. Nobody came here on a winning streak.’ It was such a beautiful thing.”
