Aaron Watson Reveals His Mother Almost Died

Aaron Watson is feeling grateful for close family bonds after his mother suffered a near-death experience.

The Texas country singer opened up about his mom’s health battle on social media, posting a closeup photo of his hand holding hers as he sits at her bedside.

“We almost lost mom on Sunday,” he writes.

“I’ve always cherished her, but I held her hand differently today, and I listened differently to her voice today,” Watson continues. “Being with her felt like a dream come true, truly an answered prayer. She isn’t out of the woods yet, but she is stable and recovering.”

Over the weekend, Watson first shared a post that touched on the subject of his mother’s health challenges, asking fans to “keep mom in your prayers” as he acknowledged that the family was going through a “hard day.”

In his update, Watson thanked everyone who prayed for his mother or sent “sweet messages” of support. He also offered an important reminder about the importance of appreciating loved ones.

“Do me a favor this evening,” he writes. “Unless you’re calling a loved one … turn off your phones and your TV and love on your family. Now I’m off to grill some marinated costillas! Love yall!”

Over the course of Watson’s career, he has become one of the country music mainstream’s most successful independent artist. His 2016 single, “Outta Style,” was a Top 10 hit on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
