Divorce Rate in America Is Highest in These 5 States

If you’re looking to get married and stay that way, you might not want to reside in one of these five states. These states have the highest divorce rate in the country:

5. Oklahoma
4. West Virginia
3. Kentucky
2. Wyoming
1. Arkansas

The divorce in Arkansas is more than 60 percent higher than the rest of the country as a whole! Researches say that Arkansas has a higher number of marriages, so that could be part of why there’s higher number of divorces.

Also, data indicates folks in Arkansas tend to get married at a younger age than other places, thus contributing to the higher divorce rate.

One factor that greatly contributes to divorce? Arguments over money. With the median income in Arkansas being just above $35,000, in today’s economy especially, that could lead to a lot of stress when it comes to making ends meet, putting strain a relationship.
