‘Saturday Night Live’ Taps Jelly Roll to Launch 50th Season

Jelly Roll is continuing his tour of television, and this appearance is a big one!

The country singer has been selected as the musical guest for Saturday Night Live on Sept. 28. The date marks the premiere of the sketch comedy show’s 50th anniversary. Actress Jean Smart will serve as the guest host that night.

“BRB going to cry for a few hours and call every family member I have,” Jelly Roll writes on social media. “Bringing therapeutic music to my favorite show ever. God is Good.”

Jelly Roll fans could not be more excited to see him on the iconic SNL stage. The comments section on his post is flooded with support:

If it feels like the country hitmaker is everywhere these days, it’s because he is. In addition to his Beautifully Broken Tour, Jelly Roll was also a guest at the Emmy Awards this month. He sang “I Am Not Okay” for their In Memoriam segment.

Saturday Night Live airs on on NBC at 11:30PM ET on Saturdays. Fans can also stream the show on Peacock the next day.
