Randy Travis is teeing up a string of new More Life Tour dates beginning in January 2025.

The tour, which also kept Travis busy over the course of this summer, has a one-of-a-kind format. Due to a 2013 stroke that left the singer unable to perform, Travis himself doesn’t sing at the shows: Instead, a vocalist named James Dupré performs with Travis’ original touring band. Meanwhile, the country legend and his wife Mary will be onstage to interact with fans and enjoy the music together.

“The More Life Tour celebrates so much more than a musical moment in time,” Travis says in a statement. “It’s a gift to me to spend time with my fans, and my band, as James Dupré perfectly presents the songs that best define my career.”

The tour takes its name from More Life, a documentary about Travis’ personal life and career that came out in 2022.

Over the years, Travis has found creative ways to stay connected to music, and his fans, despite his health challenges. Earlier this year, he put out an AI-generated new song titled “Where That Came From,” sparking a new debate angle on the controversial topic of artificial intelligence’s ever-evolving and little-litigated role in music performance.

The singer has also consistently stayed current as a country music fan. Back when Kane Brown was a fledgling artist, Travis was one of his highest-profile fans. The country legend also offered support to breakout star Oliver Anthony, and even played beer pong with Post Malone.
