Best College Football Games for Week Three: It’s a Doozy!

Last Saturday, the college football world watched as two Top 10 teams lost (Notre Dame and Michigan), and three others were in locked into some unexpectedly tough games (Penn State, Alabama and Oregon).

So where does that leave us this week?

While the schedule lacks the marquee matchup of a Texas vs. Michigan, these are the kind of weeks that can cause complete chaos. There is only one Top 25 matchup on Saturday, as the Missouri Tigers host the surprising Boston College Eagles.

Boston College is off to a great start on their season under first year head coach Bill O’Brien, but Mizzou has looked the part of a college playoff team lately. They have rolled their first two opponents by a combined 89-0 score! Boston College will be a tougher test than Murray State or Buffalo, but will they have enough to go on the road and topple one of the top SEC teams? Kickoff is set for 12:45PM Saturday, Sept. 14, on the SEC Network.

How about a SEC-BigTen matchup to kick off your Saturday?

Alabama will make the trip to Wisconsin to take on the Badgers on Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff. Wisconsin has started the season slow, but everyone in Madison will be rocking and jumping as the Crimson Tide roll into town. Despite the 42-16 score of their win over South Florida last week, that game was close in the fourth quarter before the 4th-ranked Tide put up 28 unanswered to end the game. Tide can’t start slow on the road in Madison, even against a lesser Wisconsin team.

The final matchup to keep an eye on this Saturday was one of the best games in 2023. Colorado and Colorado State hook up once again, this time in Fort Collins. The Buffalo of Colorado are coming off a humbling beatdown at the hands of Nebraska, and you may remember some of the bad blood following the CSU-Colorado game last year.

Needless to say, the Buffs may not want to start talking trash at the handshake this week.

This matchup is sett for a 6:30PM kickoff on CBS on Saturday.
