Kane Brown Stops Show to Share Hug With Boy Victimized by Bully

Kane Brown was bullied as a kid — he’s explained in past interviews that he was raised by a single mother, and they didn’t have much money, so bullies targeted him for various reasons.

Now a father of three children of his own, Brown has a big heart for young people, especially those he can relate to. So when he saw a boy holding up a sign that read, “Bullied for the color of my skin! I just want a hug from Kane Brown,” at one of his recent concerts, he had to pause.

Brown was performing a show in Denver when he spotted the sign in the crowd. He’ll tell you it touched his soul.

Video shows the special moment. Brown is singing his hit “Good as You” when he spots the sign and leaves the stage.

He’s headed to find the kid holding the sign, and he finishes the song with the boy by his side after making his way into the audience. Watch here:

A TikTok user captured the whole thing, and the caption summarizes what most people are probably feeling after watching the clip: “This fr made me cry. Kane Brown Denver September 2024. He truly has a beautiful soul.”

Another commenter chimes in, “I was there and I was freaking balling [sic].”

After the show, Brown took to his Instagram to share what the moment meant to him.

“Be yourself, don’t worry about others but also try and be kind,” he writes in the caption of a post that includes a photo of him and the bullied young man. “Treat others how you would wanna be treated — tonight was amazing Colorado but this touched my heart.”

Brown recently welcomed his third child and first son, Krewe Allen Brown. The singer is still on the road — he’ll make a stop in Arlington, Texas, on Saturday (Sept. 14) before a lengthy break.
