Miranda Lambert is set to drop straight fire this Friday (Sept. 13) in the form of her new album, Postcards From Texas.
She’s been hard at work since parting ways with Sony Music Nashville, her longtime record label, preparing to launch this new project with Republic Records and in partnership with Big Loud
When Lambert stopped by Taste of Country Nights recently, host Evan Paul asked her if she feels like she has something to prove to her old label now that she has a new home — does she have a chip on her shoulder?
The “Wranglers” singer did not hold back in her reply.
“Well, yeah, a little bit,” Lambert admits. “I mean, who doesn’t?”
“You know, when you get, when you …”
Hearing her team behind her, laughing, Lambert turned around mid-sentence and let out a chuckle, too.
“I’m just so excited to have a team that’s so excited about music and leads with art,” she says assuredly. “That is all we can want as an artist, you know?”
Lambert has a new drive inside of her in 2024, and it shows. She’ll tell you the same:
“It just lights a fire and makes me ready to roll, she says.
When asked if Big Loud — who’s doing marketing and radio pushes for Lambert’s new album — gave her the whole studio and office tour to court her into signing to their label, she says yes, and she was sold.
“Yeah, I got the whole pitch, and they sold me and I loved it,” Lambert admits with a laugh.
“You know after being in one place for 20 years … that’s another reason I wanted to go home to make Postcards From Texas, because I wanted it to go back to the root of everything where it all started,” she explains.
“I’m starting a new journey with a new team after 20 years in the business, and that’s just crazy. Not everybody gets the opportunity to do that.”
Lambert is thankful to be reinvigorated.
