Rachael Ray is causing quite the stir on social media after posting a tribute to her “dear friend,” the late Tony Bennett.

The 56-year-old shared a video via Instagram on Sep. 2 (Monday), honoring the jazz legend, who died in July 2023 at 96, by making his favorite meal, Ossobucco, which consists of “succulent braised veal shanks with creamy polenta and bread.”

Ray emotionally recalled the time she invited Bennett, and his wife, Susan Crow, to her home for dinner, and “almost killed” him.

“I had polished the floors in the kitchen because, well, Tony Bennett’s coming to dinner. I have to make sure the floors are perfect and the house is clean and everything is just amazing,” the former daytime diva said.

She admitted that she might have gone “overboard” with the cleaning products due to Bennett’s chair sliding “out from under” him, causing him to “hit his head” on her marble counter.

The “New York State of Mind” singer got right up and chowed down on “double portions” of his favorite dish.

Critics flocked to the comments section, with some concerned over her “messy” appearance in the video.

“OMG someone get this woman help! She looks and acts like she has been drinking all the time. I love Rachael but she’s so hard to watch like this,” one person wrote, while another accused Ray or “slurring” her words.

“What the heck is wrong with her? Messy hair, slurring words…. wow just wow,” a third user stated, while a fourth chimed in saying they were “seriously concerned” for the chef.

After seeing some of the disparaging comments, many of her fans called out the haters, while praising Ray.

“She’s aging like the rest of us. Maybe she has a medical condition, maybe she is on medication. Regardless, no need to be mean,” a fan said.

“Everyone is overreacting… If you know her from the beginning of 30 minutes meals then that’s when she was young and more active fit and new to her career… met her husband got married got a talk show and know she’s older and just chilling and when ever and I mean when ever she wants she will upload a video … also she’s aging well, the normal way, no plastic surgery or doing it like everyone else… get real people… Go Rachael do your thing and thank you for showing us the real you,” another social media user gushed.

“God you people are rude!!!!! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and food today,” a third person scoffed.
