25 KFC Locations Across America Just Abruptly Closed Their Doors

There have been a lot of things that have gone south for the restaurant industry since the pandemic. From the lack of customers, to the lack of workers, to the price hikes, it all equals declining revenue.

We are learning that no fast-food establishment is safe from shuttering its doors. Some do it like a thief in the night, too, shutting doors for nightly closures, and never opening them back up.

That seems to be the case for about 25 KFC locations in America, which closed their doors rather abruptly, with no notice.

KFC Locations Across America Are Closing Their Doors for Good

Nation’s Restaurant News reports that about 25 KFC restaurants have abruptly closed in various cities in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin.

Now, it is important to note that the same company that was franchising these KFC locations also owned Pizza Hut locations that closed their doors not too long ago.

All of the restaurants are owned by franchisee EYM Chicken, the company confirmed in an email Wednesday evening (Aug. 21).

A spokesperson for EYM chicken let everyone down gently, like they were breaking up with their customers. “We appreciate the patronage of our loyal guests,” is what they want their customers to know as they close up shop for good.

Imagine waking up one morning and thinking ahead about what you were going to order when you take your family for chicken night at KFC, just to get there and see the place boarded up.

Talk about a core memory as a kid and as an adult that you might wish never happened.
