Miranda Lambert will be the guest of honor at the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards next month.
The “Wranglers” singer was picked to receive the Country Icon Award, first given to Toby Keith in 2023. She’ll be honored for her long career and authenticity during the show.

In honoring Keith in 2023, Blake Shelton took the stage first before Keith performed “Don’t Let the Old Man In,” the song he wrote for Clint Eastwood’s movie, The Mule. The tear-jerking moment proved to be his final televised performance, although in the weeks that followed, he’d speak with great optimism about his cancer battle.
It’s not certain that Lambert will perform, nor is it clear which stars will honor her during the ceremony. Currently, she has her own album on the way, but also a collaboration on Lainey Wilson‘s new Whirlwind album, due Aug. 23.
The 40-year-old is a four-time nominee at the all-genre People’s Choice Awards, but has never won.
In addition to the Country Icon Award, Lambert is up for the Female Artist of 2024 and the Female Song of 2024 at the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards. Voting is open through Friday night at the Vote PCCA website.
She was nominated in the female artist category last year but lost to Wilson.
