The list of nominations for the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards are out, and for the first time ever, Jelly Roll and Morgan Wallen are among those vying for a trophy.

The country stars find their names among several other heavy hitters in all genres of music, including Taylor Swift, who leads the 2024 VMAs nominees with 10 nods.

Jelly Roll and Wallen are nominated alongside their friend and fellow (current) country singer Post Malone, as well as Shaboozey and Tyler Childers.

The country stars are two of 29 first-time nominees going into the annual awards show.

What Are Jelly Roll and Morgan Wallen Nominated for at the 2024 MTV VMAs?

Jelly Roll and Wallen are representing country music in two categories and are competing against each other in one. Both are up for Best Collaboration — Jelly Roll is featured on Jessie Murph’s “Wild Ones,” while Wallen is a part of Post Malone’s “I Had Some Help.”

Jelly Roll is among those nominated in the Video for Good category for his work on Joyner Lucas’ “Best for Me.”

Which Country Artists Are Nominated for 2024 MTV VMA Awards?

In addition to Jelly Roll and Wallen, there are a handful of other country singers included in this year’s nominations. It’s rare to see country artists represented at the MTV Video Music Awards, but Shaboozey and Childers have found their way onto the list of nominees in 2024.

Shaboozey is up for Best New Artist, while Childers’ “In Your Love” is vying for the Video for Good award.

Many could argue that Malone is also representing country music at the show, though eight of his nine nominations come from his work on Taylor Swift’s song “Fortnight” and its accompanying video. Post’s country song “I Had Some Help” is nominated for Best Collaboration.

The MTV Video Music Awards are a fan-voted event, which means fans can go online and vote for their favorites for a period of time leading up to the show. Voting is officially open now at mtv.com/vma.

The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards will air on MTV on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 8PM ET.
