1996’s Twister walked so 2024’s Twisters could run. It’s been 28 years since fans have tasted the thrill of romance mixed with the extreme peril of dodging colossal tornados.

With the reimagined Twisters out, it’s time to look at where the original cast is now.

Who Were The Stars of Twister in 1996

While there were 12 notable cast members in the film, two of them are hard to forget. Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt would play Bill Harding and Dr. Jo Harding. Together, they would portray two storm chasers on the brink of finalizing their divorce. In the end, they would survive the wake of the storm, rekindling their love.

Many of the stars are still in the acting world, playing roles in various television shows and films. Lead Helen Hunt, one year after Twister was released, would go on to star in As Good as It Gets, earning her an Academy Award for Best Actress.

Her counterpart, Bill Paxton had another fate. Sadly, the actor died in 2017 at the age of 61. He suffered a stroke after undergoing op-heart surgery a month prior to repair a damaged aortic heart valve.
