Here’s Why Jason Aldean Joined Donald Trump at the RNC

Jason Aldean and his wife Brittany call former President Donald Trump a friend, but the reason for their appearance at the Republican National Convention was beyond personal.

Cameras found the country music couple seated right alongside Trump in his box during the convention in Milwaukee on Thursday night (July 19). Photos find them shaking hands and talking throughout the night.

  • Chris Janson, Brian Kelley and Lee Greenwood are three more country stars who appeared or performed during the RNC this week.
  • Kid Rock also performed just before Trump’s speech.
  • Aldean was one of many country stars who showed support for the former president after an assassination attempt last Saturday (July 13).

After the convention, Aldean was set to play a private concert at a local casino. RNC chair Reince Priebus told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel about the special concert. It’s not clear if Donald Trump or wife Melania were in attendance.

During his speech, Trump praised Aldean and his position in country music, adding, “I like his wife even better, by the way.”

Brittany Aldean shared highlights of her night on her Instagram page. She also responded after last weekend’s shooting:

“This is what a Warrior looks like! This is MY guy,” Jason Aldean wrote. “@realdonaldtrump we are thinking about u and praying for you and your family. God has a bigger plan for you my friend and I think we all know what that is by now. My heart goes out to the victims families as well. They are the ones left to pick up the pieces of this cowardly act.”
